Remy grew up Catholic, then left the church for a number of years. He came to follow Jesus in college followed by time at Lutheran, Baptist and Pentecostal churches. He became disillusioned with church and left it again for a season and then moved to the Menomonie area in 1990 to experiment with an intentional Christian community before rejoining a traditional church in 1997. Eventually he joined a small group of like minded dreamers in 2003 to start Cedarbrook Church. He has been married to his wife Lisa since 1978 and has three grown children. Remy graduated from both the University of Minnesota (’78) and Bethel Seminary (’01). He likes reading, coffee, jogging, relaxing with Lisa, and seeing lives changed by Jesus!

My name is Mitch Haaby and I am the new Associate Pastor at Cedarbrook Church!
I just graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and my family and I could not be more excited to accept this position, join a dynamic and energetic church, and let’s not forget – got us out of the city!
I married my lovely bride, Jena, in August of 2016 and we have two beautiful little girls – Nadia’s 9 and Emmi just turned 7. They’ll be in 4th and 2nd grades this coming school year. We hail from the true north country. I’m from Roseau, MN and Jena is from 20 miles down the road in Warroad, MN. I am an avid outdoorsman and I think God hand-picked this area, just for me. I love to bow hunt (deer, bear, and probably turkey soon), fish for walleyes (in the boat or through the ice), and just simply connect with our creator through the beauty that is all around us – especially here in Dunn County! WOW. I’ll be working with the youth at Cedarbrook primarily, but excited to explore other areas of ministry and serve the needs of the greater congregation and community here! Come visit and say hi, we can swap hunting stories. 🙂

Cedarbrook is excited to have Emilie Menz as our worship director. Emilie has been involved in the music industry for more than twenty years. Having grown up in church into a family of musicians, her submersion into all kinds of music styles has helped evolve and inspire a new love for all kinds of music leading. Her bold, outspoken personality has made her fearless in her music writing; putting into words deep cries of the heart, which are expressions of her life as well as from the world around her. Although trusting God is the foundation of her thoughts and perspectives, all of her music comes from truth and ends with hope.

Kris Ann Erickson Family Ministry Associate
Kris Ann, the oldest of five children, grew up in a small West Central Minnesota farming community where her family faithfully attended the local United Methodist Church. Though she earned perfect Sunday School attendance year after year, she left home with a lot of head knowledge and an unstable faith. After years of trying to fill the God-sized hole in her heart with everything but God, Kris Ann felt led to participate in an outreach group for mothers during a season of postpartum depression. Through this women’s ministry, she developed a voracious appetite for the Word of God and found herself inviting God to use everything in her life for His glory. Since that time, God has used Kris Ann in several ministry roles including 14 years serving in women’s ministry, and 6 years serving as Director of Children’s and Family ministry at Menomonie United Methodist Church. Kris Ann joined the Cedarbrook team in 2016. She lives in Menomonie with her husband Dale, his son Jake, her sons Tobey and Xander, and their son, Levi. She has a huge heart for ALL people, and loves the opportunity to share her faith, her struggles and her joys in any way that might highlight her great big merciful God. She also likes reading, writing, coffee, landscaping, hiking, sunshine and beaches!
